Course Overview

This course introduces Industrial Instrumentation, Calibration, Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance, Loop Testing, PLC, SCADA, DCS, Industrial Automation and Process Control. Students will gain complete practical knowledge required to work in Oil & Gas, Power Plant, Steel Plant, Cement, Chemical and Manufacturing industries.

  • Basic Electrical & Electronics, Electronics components & its properties.
  • Measuring Practices.

  • Cable, Types of Cable, its specifications & uses.
  • Cable laying, cable dressing, cable tagging, cable glanding, cable termination, Cable continuity test and insulation resistance test.
  • Cable trench, cable tray-Type & size, cable tray fabrication and installation. Conduit, type and size & its installation.
  • Impulse tubing/Air tubing/Instrument air manifold installation and testing.
  • Grounding / Earthing system and testing.
  • Familiarize with Junction box, local control panel, marshalling panel, system panel etc.

Certification Criteria

To be eligible for certification, candidates must successfully complete the prescribed training and pass the instituteโ€™s assessment process.

The evaluation may include the following components:

  • Trade Theory
  • Trade Practical
  • Workshop Assessment
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Oral / Viva Examination

The examination may be conducted in online or offline mode, either as written, objective (MCQ), practical, or viva, as determined by the institution.

Candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the institute in each assessment component. If a candidate does not qualify in any component, they may be required to reappear for that particular assessment in accordance with the instituteโ€™s examination policy.

Certificate and Marks Sheet will be awarded upon the successful completion of the course and fulfillment of all examination requirements.
